El grupo fue compuesto por los hermanos Gibb, Barry, Maurice, Robin.
Su comienzo fue en el año 1958 con el nombre de Rattlesnakes.
Su estilo de música pasa por soft rock, R&B, pop, disco.
Estuvieron en actividad hasta el año 2003, año en que fallece Maurice.
En el año 2009, Barry y Robin decidieron volver a usar el nombre Bee Gees, y trabajaron juntos hasta 2011
