Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, alias Sting, es de origen británico, nacido en el año 1951 en Wallsend. Es cantante, músico, compositor, productor y actor.
Comienza su carrera en el año 1971
Bien conocido por ser integrante del grupo "The Police", siendo el cantante y bajista.
Su genero pasa por rock, pop, new wave, jazz, etc.
Sting en español significa "aguijón". Una vez hizo una actuación con una camiseta de fútbol a rayas amarillas y negras, (el jugaba fútbol en el segundo equipo de Newcastle) y un compañero le dijo que parecía un Sting, de ahí el nombre.
